One election down, one more to go!

We should all be familiar with the concept of "one vote can make a difference." Well, now is the time to make our difference. In last week's Pontotoc Progress you'll find the annual "Best of Pontotoc" ballot. It's time to grab your pen and start marking!

Each year, the Pontotoc Progress asks you, the readers, to fill out this ballot and tell us who you think is the "best" in Pontotoc. Then we at the Progress count each ballot, tally the votes and put together a special section in the paper at the end of September informing you of the results. Then we print certificates for the winners to display in their business.

The "best of" categories range from best hamburger to best gift shop to best teacher. And this year, we've even added a few new categories such as Best Dress Shop, Best Medical Clinic and Best Bridal Registry.

Every year brings new results and every year gets more exicting as each vote is counted and logged. And while in some races the winners win by large margin, other races come down to that one last vote that will make the difference in who gets to claim the title for one whole year.

So cast your vote! Fill out the ballot in the newspaper, return it to the Progress office and look for the winners in the September 30 issue of the Pontotoc Progress.
