NEMCABB ALL-STAR GAMES - Nathan White leads West team to 10-5 win

CORINTH — Pontotoc High’s Nathan White left his final mark on his high school baseball career when he jacked a home run and added two more singles to his Offensive MVP award-winning performance Saturday in Corinth at the Northeast Miss. Coaches Association for Better Baseball (NEMCABB) All-Star game.

The 3A/4A/5A game

The West defeated the East 10-5 behind six strike out performance from West MVP Chris Stratton of Tupelo.

North Pontotoc’s senior Weston Mounce was named Defensive MVP while fellow Viking senior Jeremy Ferguson had a double for the West in the victory.

Jordan Gurley (Corinth) was tabbed with Defensive MVP honors while Lowell Gann (Alcorn Central) earned Offensive MVP honors for the East.

Bruce Award

The Ralph Bruce Memorial Award for character shown in Saturday's all-star game went to East All-Star Blake Long (Tishomingo County).

The 1A/2A game

In the 1A/2A game the East picked up a somewhat surprising 19-6 win over the West.

Jayme Cutts (Ackerman) was named Offensive MVP for the West, Kevin Barnett (Vardaman) earned the same honor for the East.

Buck Beene (Baldwyn) took home Defensive MVP honors for the East while Caleb English (West Union) did the same for the West. Josh Hodges (Ingomar) earned overall MVP honors for the West, and Isaac Winders (Hamilton) was named overall MVP for the East.

East Union’s Craig Bullock received the Rusty Brown Memorial Award, the award is given to the player that shows the best character throughout the game.
