The Pontotoc County sheriff’s department has arrested the following people for the month of January:

Tremel Cortez Ivy, 22, 115 Grenada Lane, Greenwood, Miss.

Ivy was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He is free on a $10,000 bond.

Marcia G. Chewe, 48,268 Franklin Lane, Pontotoc, is free on a $1,000 bond. She is charged with public assistance fraud.

Bari L. Walters, 44, 5575 Highway 15 North, Ecru, has been charged with four counts of uttering a forgery. She is free on $10,000 bond.

Mario Delos Angeles Hernandez, 31, 7005 Highway 15 North, Ecru, is charged with identity theft. He is free on a $10,000 bond.

Michael L. Wray, 52, 2275 Wise Bend Road, Pontotoc, has been charged with aggravated assault of a victim over 65 years old, which is an enhanced charge. He is free on a $10,000 bond.

Joshua Cody Graham, 39, 1771 Waters Road, Pontotoc, is charged with manslaughter culpable negligence. He is free on a $56,000 bond.

Pontotoc County Sheriff Neal Davis also wanted to release some statistics made by the sheriff’s department from January to December last year.

There were 1,452 people arrested, of these there were 241 DUI’s. The department worked a total of 90 accidents and filled out 1,130 incident reports.

The department drove approximately 470,000 to 475,000 miles.

Sheriff Davis also said that the total arrests made by all agencies, Mississippi Highway Patrol, sheriff’s department and all municipal police amounted to 2,616 people.
